Phenotyping project type 1
Problem Definition
For the control and the visualization of this research centre, a search was carried out for the mechanization and software required to largely automate the phenotyping process with the objective being to be able to register the plant data automatically using cameras, weighing units, sensors, etc.
Solution
For this project, an automated logistic belt system was implemented in which the plants belonging to an experiment were placed in a line and given a unique code. For the control of movement of plants using the cameras, sensors and weighing units, the ISAL logistic platform has been implemented to ensure the production schedules (activity plans) are communicated to the ISAL platform via the ISA'95 messages from a higher-level system.
The visualization of the logistics process and the operations activity (MES) is provided by ISAL.
Specific features
- Implementation of the ISA'95 standard between ISAL (MES) and the higher-level system
- The generation of activity plans
- The registration of activities, and results at plant level
- Communication with external systems via web services
